In the last week Oklahoma State has called and offered Chane Behanan Last week Travis Ford from Oklahoma State came in to watch him personally. Also last week assistant coaches from WKU, West Virginia and Mississippi State there to watch him and the kids in open gym. As most of you have probably heard by now since Jody Demling of the Courier Journal had it on Friday along with a few other folks. Chance took an unofficial visit to the University of Kentucky on Saturday and toured the facilities, watched the UL – UK football game and hung out with Calipari, staff and players. By all accounts He was blown away and really had a great time.

A few things that are exclusive to this site as of now are are that: Tomorrow Bob Huggins is coming in to visit and then Travis Ford will come in about an hour later. On Tuesday Rick Stansbury from Mississippi State will be in. Please check back for more on on this ultra talented player as details unfold with all of the visits. Tony Kimbro is a versatile guard that is super strong with his left hand. He has a superb slashing game and an improving perimeter jump shot. Defensively he is a hustler, though he is out of position at times.Kimbro recently told us that he plans on visiting Oklahoma State, Louisville and Duke. Kimbro also told us that he liked Kentucky in this recent interview.

In the last week Oklahoma State has called and offered Chane Behanan, Coach Ford said that he is their #1 priority for that recruiting class. His uncle and Coach Sherrill have also been contacted by the University of Alabama, the University of Georgia, West Virginia University and the University of Kentucky. None of these have offered, but they have all made contact and have all indicated that they are interested and will be actively recruiting him. The Courier Journal should be reporting this soon.

No matter what happens or where this ultra talented player ends up, I wish him nothing but the best. Behanan is currently rated #19 in the class of 2011.

George Fant is one of the most promising prospects in the state of Kentucky regardless of class. He is very bouncy and has a great motor. His long arms coupled with his athletic abilities lead easy baskets in transition and one on one situations. Overall Fant's game remains a bit on the raw side. If he continues to operate within his limits and improve, then he could develop into a top 100 player in the 2011 class.

Austin Etherington has spent the majority of his high school career sidelined with injuries. Etherington has finally put some distance between himself and his last injury and it has translated into more confident play. As a sophomore, after missing the first 15 games, Etherington burst back averaging 16 points and 7 rebounds per contest. By all accounts the dead eye shooter is among the top guards in the 2011 class and he holds no less than five high major offers.

Recently Full Court Preps Writer David Money was able to catch up with Etherington.

F.C.P. - Could you sum up your game for folks who have not had a chance to see you play?

Etherington- I am a two guard or a three that can shoot the ball and penetrate to the basket.

F.C.P.- What have you been working on this summer?

Etherington- Getting low on my drive. Working on my shot and trying to get more shots up. I am learning to shoot over taller defenders and stuff like that.

F.C.P.- How are you recovering from the injury's?

Etherington- I am 100 percent, I am all good.

F.C.P.- Can you talk about how you guys did at Hamilton last season?

Etherigton- I missed the first 15 games. When I started playing we were about .500 and we ended up plus three. I think we only lost four games when I was playing. I did alright, I averaged about 16 points per game.

F.C.P.- What schools are showing interest in you?

Etherington- I have five offers. I have Xavier, Indiana, Butler, Oklahoma State, and New Mexico. Ohio State is right there, I'm hoping to get that offer.

F.C.P.- Do you have a leader at this point?

Etherington- Not really. It's all open. It's all up in the air.

F.C.P.- Do you plan on taking any visits?

Etherington- Yeah I'm hoping that in the fall I can get out to Oklahoma St. and see what it's like. I'll probably go back to Indiana and Xavier.

F.C.P.- Could you tell us what you have been working on?

Kimbro- Trying to get better with my right hand and being a better passer and playing better defense.

F.C.P.- Could you talk about how things are going at the Christ school?

Kimbro- Well it is really different down there because your playing against better competition. I had to adjust because I was so used to going left and they were forcing me right. I had to work on my jump shooting, point guard, and shooting guard skills.

F.C.P.- What was it like playing with Lakeem Jackson and Marshall Plumlee?

Kimbro- It was real good because they was the go to players and they work real hard and they motivated me.

F.C.P.- What schools are showing interest in you?

Kimbro- Oklahoma State, Kentucky, Louisville and Duke

F.C.P.- Do you have any offers right now?

Kimbro- Oklahoma State has offered.

F.C.P.- Has the new staff at Kentucky been in contact with you?

Kimbro- They have been in contact with my father. Louisville has too.

F.C.P- What are some of the things that you are looking for in a school?

Kimbro- Basically a school that can get me to the next level.

F.C.P- Do you plan on taking any visits any time soon?

Kimbro- I think I'm going to take visits to Oklahoma State, Louisville and Duke.

On the first day of play at the Take 5 classic Vinny Zollo showed why he is going to attend a high major program. Throughout the day he showed flashes of brilliant play. He displayed the ability to score in a number of ways in the post, he also demonstrated a slightly improved ability to handle and pass the ball.

Full Court Preps writer David Money caught up with Zollo and discussed a number of topics, including his recent de-commitment from Kentucky:



Overall, Zollo is a sound player who will be on a division one roster in the next couple of years. The only question at this point is: Who's roster?

Scott County's Ge-Lawn Guyn is among the top handful of players in the state of Kentucky regardless of class and he recently Committed to UNC Charlotte. Coach Lutz's 49ers have picked up a combo guard with few very impressive ability's:

-He can take just about anyone off the dribble

-You can't give him too much room or he will knock down the three.

-He has a great feel for where his teammates are at all times.

"I play the one and two, I can shoot, I can pass, I can do it all. I try to get everyone involved." said Guyn

"I'm looking for a school that plays uptempo, because that's the way that I like to play. The academics, stuff like that, but I'm just being humble and taking everything as it comes."

Guyn is a very confident and talented young man. Look for him to be among our top 100 players in the class of 2010, when we expand our list later this summer.

Donnie Hale is the top prospect in southern Indiana in the 2010 class. Hale has listed both Purdue and Xavier for awhile now and his decision is expected to come sometime in the near future. We have a source close to this kids situation and although no decision has been made by Hale; he is believed to be Xavier's to lose at this point. Hale would certainly bolster coach Mack's first full recruiting haul. Oklahoma State still has an outside of landing Hale as well.

Chad Jackson is 6'4 combo guard that does it all. Jackson will not "wow" you with any particular skill, however he has the ability to shoot consistently, to rebound, to handle the basketball, and to score in a variety of ways. Jackson is about 6'4 with long arms that help him to sky over opponents for rebounds and lay-ups. Jackson is also a team first player, always seeming to opt for the right basketball play, over scoring or being to caught up in his individual numbers.

Defensively, Jackson could still use some work on his lateral quickness. Jackson does play nice "help." defense and I have seen him come from the weak side to block numerous shots. This kid is a hard worker and should bloom during his senior campaign.

Ge-Lawn Guyn is a really impressive player with a multi-dimensional skill set. Guyn has the talent to create havoc at either guard position. This kid can penetrate and finish with the best players in the class. Guyn's quickness often forces opposing teams to double team or trap him, however he has the ability and vision to pass out of the chaos, for easy buckets. Guyn's athleticism and work ethic could help him develop into a lock down defender as well.

Overall, this kid stands out. He plays for a loaded Scott County team that features no less than five future division one players. This kid has an extremely high ceiling and should have no problem attending any number of high major programs.

Our final 2009 class rankings are being revealed starting May 11. Releasing one team a day leading up to our #1 ranking and the signing day finale on May 20.

Head Coach Travis Ford has wasted no time in rebuilding the Cowboys program. The 2009 class consists of 7 players, highlighted by point guard Raymond Penn, combo forward Karron Johnson and small forward Roger Franklin. We also put this class in the top 10 because of its sheer size. All seven players should be able to help the team next season in some way, shape or form. Although the class does bolster 3 point guards we still love the overall versatility that it possess.


Raymond Penn- is a small yet strong point guard that should step in and start from day 1. We recently saw Penn play at the 2009 Derby Classic. Penn looked really impressive for stretches posting 24 points. This young man displayed the best touch from 3, knocking down 5 treys during the course of the game. Penn's shooting was part of a late surge that almost helped his team get over the hump. Penn should step in and fill departed senior Byron Eaton's shoes nicely.

Karron Johnson- is a power player that can knock down the open jumper as well. Johnson will primarily play in the post for the Cowboys and his soft hands and nose for the ball will be a welcome addition to coach Ford's thin front line. Johnson should compliment fellow post player Marshall Mosses well. This kid can be explosive at times and just might be the guy the new look team goes to when in need of a basket. Roger Franklin- is the better of the 2 players from Duncanville high school that the Cowboys have signed. Franklin is a strong player with decent touch. This kid can get to the rack with relative ease. Franklin is truly more of an inside out player, that can score in the post over bigger defenders or drop the ball off to the open man when slashing. Has a strong ability to rebound despite his lack of height. This kid is a proven winner helping to lead his team to a state title while in high school. Could be the vocal leader of the class. Fred Gulley- is a point guard that possess true general skills. Gulley had a highly decorated high school career and was the 2008 and 2009 Gatorade Player of the Year in Arkansas. Gulley Averaged 16.4 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 3.5 steals and 3.0 assists as a senior. Gulley seems to be at his best when pushing the ball on the break. Has a great feel for where his teammates are at and also seems to know where they will be. Gulley has the strength to finish among taller players. Reger Dowell- is a former/future teammate of Roger Franklin while at Duncanville high in Texas. Dowell has had a bit of trouble finding a home for his mind and his game. In the last 12 months Dowell has decommitted from Alabama and had his scholarship offer rescinded by Arizona. We seen this kid play at the Marshall county Hoop Fest, where Dowell didn't have his best game. This kid is a solid all around guard that can do a lot of things well but no one ability stands out with his game.Needs to improve upon his three point range to keep defenses honest at the d1 level. Dowell should be a contributor at some point but with both Penn and Gulley likely playing ahead of him his minutes may come down the road as he develops. Photo

Torin Walker- is a long lanky big man with decent touch from about 15 feet. Doesn't have very good springs or bounce, but rebounds well enough to hold down the 4 at the high division one level. Runs the floor well and has a ton of potential. Should log a few minutes as a freshman but don't expect much production for a season or two. Walker averaged 16 points, 12 rebounds and 3 blocks per game as a senior. Photo

Jarred Shaw- is another tall long post prospect. Shaw has looked dominant at times throughout his high school career. Shaw has also disappeared at times. Shaw is definitely more potential rather than production at his point as well. His game is unpolished to say the least. Shaw however is full of promise, if the ball comes off the rim around him expect a huge dunk tip. We are interested to see what happens with Shaw, as his game has a very high ceiling. Photo

Gold Team

Micheal Snaer- 30 points, Gold Team MVP. Wow, this kid continues to impress us. Snaer (pictured center) has a nose for the ball. Showed a nice touch from the perimeter as well. Snaer doesn't play above the rim as much as you would like him to, but other than that the 6'4 shooting guard has the complete package. Leonard Hamilton has to be anxious to get this kid on the court.

Christian Watford - 25 points. Watford was wonderful. He completed 4 of his 5 and 1 attempts in the game. Watford has a great blend of size and athleticism that should give defenders trouble at the division1 level. Showed a decent stroke as well. Watford is definitely more of a slasher as of now, but given time could develop into a star at IU.

Daniel Orton- 14 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 blocks. Orton (above center) was a bit out of his element in this game that went up and down so much, the final score was 151-145. However he showed that he has a strong all around game. Once sealed in the low block the kid is going to be tough to stop. Orton displayed a great feel for the game and seems to always know where to be on the court. After the game Orton told us that: "I am going to sit down and talk about my future with my father all this coming week, but as of now I am still on board wth Kentucky."

Maurice Creek - 17 points. Creek and Watford should complement one another well. The 6'5 guard showed nice touch from the outside as well as a strong ability to finish plays.

Brendan Lane- 15 points. The 6'9 UCLA commit runs the floor well. Showed range on a nice three point basket. Will definitely provide immediate help at the 4 and possibly help at the 3 in the future. Had some heady plays and should fit nicely into the Bruins gritty style.

John Hood- 13 points, The Kentucky signee looked a little sluggish at first but came on strong in the second half. Showing nice athleticism and speed for a kid just a few weeks removed from having a boot on his leg. Should provide immediate spark for the Wildcat's in limited minutes as a freshman.

Maalik Wayns- 10 points, 3 assists. Wayns is going to be a great player while at Villanova. Didn't do anything to hurt or help his ranking in this game. Wayns did have trouble with Siva's speed (something to keep in mind with 2 future Big East players.)

Black Team

Peyton Siva-16 points, 8 assists and 3 steals. We knew this kid was good, but Siva has gotten better. Known as a combo guard in high school the crafty, shifty one has shown that he can handle the point guard responsibility's at the division 1 level and beyond. Had great passes. speed and timing. Looked a cut above the other point guards in the game.

Rakeem Buckles- 24 points, 18 in a row in the 3rd quarter. Buckles started slow. In the second half the kid showed why he is a consensus top 40 player in the class.. Buckles displayed a large arsenal of post moves and slashes. We were very impressed with this kids drive. Buckles did fouls out with just under 4 minutes remaining in the game.

Runs the court as good as any player in his class, could use a little work on his shooting. Overall Gamecock fans should be pumped about seeing this kid on the hardwood.
