In the last week Oklahoma State has called and offered Chane Behanan Last week Travis Ford from Oklahoma State came in to watch him personally. Also last week assistant coaches from WKU, West Virginia and Mississippi State there to watch him and the kids in open gym. As most of you have probably heard by now since Jody Demling of the Courier Journal had it on Friday along with a few other folks. Chance took an unofficial visit to the University of Kentucky on Saturday and toured the facilities, watched the UL – UK football game and hung out with Calipari, staff and players. By all accounts He was blown away and really had a great time.

A few things that are exclusive to this site as of now are are that: Tomorrow Bob Huggins is coming in to visit and then Travis Ford will come in about an hour later. On Tuesday Rick Stansbury from Mississippi State will be in. Please check back for more on on this ultra talented player as details unfold with all of the visits. Wichita State and Kansas State both offered 2012 forward Perry Ellis (pictured) today. Ellis is widely considered to be a top 5 prospect in the class. His list of suitors include a who's who of the NCAA's elite, including- Kansas, North Carolina, Arizona and Kentucky.

Bowling Green's (KY) Chane Behanan's current list of suitors are: Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Oklahoma State Univ, West Virginia University, Western Kentucky and Cincinnati. Most of them will be coming in this month to see him and several are trying to get him on campus sometime this fall for an unofficial visit. No front runner at this time, he is just enjoying the process.

Greenup County (KY) forward Trey Williams has heard from VCU and Marshall, not sure how interested Marshall is but, VCU is becoming increasingly infatuated with the versatile Williams. The staff is expected to visit Williams sometime this month.

2011 guard Darius Clement is receiving interest from a couple of prestigious NAIA schools- Robert Morris College in Chicago and Auburn University at Montgomery.

In the last week Oklahoma State has called and offered Chane Behanan, Coach Ford said that he is their #1 priority for that recruiting class. His uncle and Coach Sherrill have also been contacted by the University of Alabama, the University of Georgia, West Virginia University and the University of Kentucky. None of these have offered, but they have all made contact and have all indicated that they are interested and will be actively recruiting him. The Courier Journal should be reporting this soon.

No matter what happens or where this ultra talented player ends up, I wish him nothing but the best. Behanan is currently rated #19 in the class of 2011.

Chane Behanan the #19 ranked player in the 2011 class has decided to re-open his recruitment. After recently attending Western Kentucky's elite camp and taking time to think about the time that he has to make a decision, it was only logical for Chane to open things back up, a source told us on Monday afternoon. Western Kentucky was polite and just taught Behanan at the camp, however it did help Behanan to see that making an informed decision and taking his time is whats best for him. Cincinnati is still the leader for his services but he does want to at least listen to the (possibly) 10 major division one programs that would like the opportunity to recruit him. Day one at the 2009 Kentucky Hoop Fest was action packed and certainly lived up to the billing as one of the top tournaments in the united states. Travel teams from across the nation hit the hardwood and provided stellar play and overtime games packed full of dramatic moments.

Tony Kimbro is back in Louisville playing with his old teammates on Team Loyalty and his all around game is looking better than ever. Team Takeover 17u, out of Canada, is absolutely loaded with division one talent. Kadeem Green has the potential to be special. The Indiana Elite, Wisconsin Force, Tennessee Tigers, Marietta Heat, and Team Spiece are some of the stronger teams in the event. The ever-improving Kentucky Blazers, featuring Chane Behanan, Mike Geegan, Vic Smith, (pictured) and heady point guard Darius Clement, are sure to make some noise over the next couple of days. There will be more on all of the above players in the coming days.

I was able to Catch up with 2010 Purdue commit Travis Carroll, who was running late because he was at the Lebron camp. I asked him about Jordan Crawford and "the dunk." He said, "Yeah it happened, I seen it. Lebron was playing, not at full speed or anything, and Jordan rose up and Lebron went like this. (moving his arms into a protective position over his head.)" I then asked Carroll if the alleged video was confiscated. He seemed confident that one was. "Yeah they were all over there conferring with the guy who had it on tape." This has quickly become a one of the most talked about dunks ever.

Coaches were evaluating players today, a lot of them seemingly for the first time. It's always nice to see kids go from having no colleges interested in them, to having four, five, or even more teams intrigued in a matter of an hour and a half. This is one of the most crucial times for coaches with the summer evaluation window getting shorter. Coaches have less time to get their list of guys that they truly want to pursue; so it is more important to get it right. While the new rule changes are up for debate, one undeniable fact is that kids now have to perform at a high level for shorter periods of time to be noticed, recruited, and offered.

Chane Behanan is a young man only a few weeks removed from moving to a new state, and he is adjusting well. Cincinnati fans should be proud to have such a well rounded student athlete committed to their program.

At one point during the interview Chane asks, was that a question? He had a little bit of trouble hearing me, due to the noise from the basketball games in the background.

Behanan seemed to be very excited about his future. He spoke very highly of current Bearcat Yancy Gates and mentioned the possibility of winning a national championship in 2012. He also sid that he really likes playing with his new teammates. If this kid grows another inch or two he has the potential to be among the top 10 or 15 players in the 2011 class.

Chane Behanan is a 6'6 power forward with an ever improving perimeter game. Over the weekend the transfer logged some quality minutes with his new team (Bowling Green High, KY) and Full Court Preps writer David Money was on hand to take in the action.

Behanan made a strong case to be moved up the 2011 rankings. After watching three of this kids games I can say with confidence that he will. Behanan showed an engine that runs in fifth gear at all times and he finished with authority around the rim. Once sealed in the post and the dump pass was made to him, he went up strong; and he diplayed a sixth sense when it came to what to do with the ball once elevated. Behanan's wide frame and legit size (for his age) truly made him a man among boys. A very physical player that banged in the post or use a nice little crossover dribble and spin move to get around would be defenders, for easy baskets. Chane has an outstanding blend of power and finesse that makes him very difficult to defend.

Defensively, when this kid is focused he imposes will and has the potential to be scary. At times he was a true stopper in the post; however on a few possessions he seemed to loose focus and allowed some uncontested buckets. I am willing to write some of the lack of focus off due to his situation; after all he is only a couple weeks removed from moving to a new state. Give him some time to build chemistry with his teammates and the Purples could make a huge run this season.

The Bearcats picked up an ultra talented player in Behanan. No stats were officially kept, but it is safe to say that he averaged well over 20 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and a block per game. Recently we sat down with the physical forward for a little Q&A; please check back tomorrow for that.

Jaylen Beckham is a sophomore to be, that attends Lexington Catholic High in KY. This kid had his talent on display over the weekend at the 13th annual Derek Smith shootout in Louisville. In my opinion, Beckham is definitely one of the top 5 players in the state of Kentucky regardless of class.

One of the best games of the weekend pitted his team against Bowling Green high. Bowling Green's revamped roster now features one of the top forwards in the 2011 class in Chane Behanan (video of Behanan tomorrow). On a couple of possessions Beckham fearlessly drove the ball right into the chest of the phenomenal forward, finishing once and drawing the foul.

The most noticeable asset that this kid posses is his almost complete game. Beckham's defensive instincts are outstanding for a player his age. He demonstrated the ability to blow by defenders, almost at will. Think a young Rajon Rondo, granted this kid may never achieve the same elite status as Rondo, but the similarities are undeniable. Beckham is about 6'1 with long arms and a wiry frame. His unorthodox build coupled with his elite speed and quickness helps him to make difficult plays look relatively natural. He is always in the right position and wreaking havoc seems to be instinctive on both ends of the court. The one weakness in his game is his shooting, which is sure to improve over the next three plus years.

Overall this kid is set to be among the top 60 or 70 players in his class, however if he can improve his inconsistent jump shot then he could find himself firmly within the top 40.

Behanan is an intriguing prospect with a quality blend of size, speed and athleticism. This versatile kid is smooth enough to do some damage from the perimeter at times, yet rugged enough to bang in the post with anyone. Although his wing game has improved more work is needed. In mid June of 09' Behanan announced that he will be moving to Bowling Green Kentucky and will attend Bowling Green high.
