Carroll averaged over 22 points per game as a junior. He is sound in the post. Carroll uses his wide frame, above par footwork and soft hands to convert tough plays in the post in high percentages. He is not very fast or quick but he runs the floor well enough not to be a defensive liability very often. He is an above average post defender especially when he is allowed to patrol the paint. Carroll has a decent drop step that will lead to easy dunks and layups at times.
