G.J. Vilarino has committed to the Gonzaga Bulldogs. Vilarino is a heady point guard that can score the ball. As a Junior Vilarino averaged 21 points, 6 assists, 2 steals and 3 rebounds per game. The 2009 point guard out of McKinney Texas had originally committed to play for the Kentucky Wildcats. When Billy Gillispie was fired Vilaarino de-committed almost immediately.
Vilarino was also being recruited by Kansas, Illinois, Memphis and Baylor before committing to UK. One of the most respected men in the recruiting business Van Coleman had Vilarino ranked as one of the top 30 players in the 09' class at the time of his commitment. Although the expectations have been tapered for the Texas prodigy. We remain confident that he will develop into a solid contributor while at Gonzaga. Play on the Adidas Nations team last summer.
