Trey Williams is a 6'6 kid that can play either forward position. This kid is a consensus top 10 player in the state of Kentucky in the 2011 class. Williams has a motor that doesn't quit and has all of the un-coachable traits that you would look for in a ball player: size, speed, athleticism, runs the floor. However, Williams game is still a bit raw and lacks polish at this point (keep in mind that he is still young). If this kid continues to work hard he could definitely play college basketball at a high major level. Overall Williams is a very polite and well mannered young student/athlete that should continue to improve his game and his collegiate stock and we will keep you posted on his progress.
Please check back tomorrow for more about one of the Scott County kids with a video interview included, we are still working on piecing together some more highlight videos and should have those ready soon as well. On a side note: We are unable to put Lil Wayne on any of our highlight videos for copyright reasons, so the random free instrumentals we have, is what we will be using for now. As always our inbox is open at fullcourtpreps1@yahoo.com (not a link) if you have any questions, comments or concerns.
Getting to Know 2011 Prospect Trey Williams
| Greenup County High, Indiana Hoosiers, Kentucky Blazers, Kentucky WIldcats, Oregon State, Stimulus Tournament, Trey Williams
Fox is 6'2 and very strong, this kid plays a lot bigger. Fox was all over the court and remained involved in all areas of the game, at all times. Fox can shoot and handle the ball like a guard but can play in the paint like a forward. This kids versatility would be a welcome addition to any team at the high school level and if he continues to improve, at the collegiate level as well.
Hughes is a jack of all trades and a master of one, he has a spot on the right side of the arc where his shot is very consistent. We had the chance to watch this kid play a couple of times recently and he was always involved in all areas of the game: scoring, passing, rebounding, defending and running the floor. This kid made a lot of solid basketball plays and is a team oriented player. The 6'3 combo guard should have no problem playing basketball at the collegiate level, the only question is: At what level?
2010 Player Intro: Anthony Green
| Anthony Green, Georgia Ballers, Stimulus Tournament, Stone Mountain High School
Green is an ever-improving 2010 prospect that plays for Stone Mountain High (GA) and for the Georgia Ballers on the summer circuit. This kid displayed the ability to go strong to the basket and put it in or draw the foul. Green also showed an above average ability to rebound, using his long arms to sky over most of the opposition. Green also showed above average athleticism and the ability to run the court very well. According to Green, he has drawn the interest of Georgia Tech, Louisville Cardinals, Texas, and Jacksonville among others. Overall we haven't scouted this kid much, but over the next 12 months Green's development is worth keeping an eye on.
2011 Player Intro: Dawayne Matthews
| Dawayne Matthews, Lawrence Central High, Stimulus Tournament, Team Progeny
Matthews is a 6'6 strong, wide bodied kid, with soft hands, that plays hard. This kid told us that he didn't play high school basketball last season while attending Pike High (IN), so he is a lesser known commodity, however his skills stood out. This kid can bang and does not shy away from contact. Matthews can step out and shoot up to about 10-12 feet consistently. Matthews displayed the ability to rebound and score in traffic.
*This kid is actually a 2011 prospect, in the video he is listed as 2010
2011 Player Intro: Skyler Brentz
| Cardinal Ritter High, Runners Basketball, Skyler Brentz, Stimulus Tournament
Skyler Brentz is a smooth wing out of Cardinal Ritter High in Indianapolis, IN. The junior to be had a couple of really impressive games this weekend at the Stimulus Tournament in Louisville, Ky. Brentz uses his 6'5 frame to rise up and shoot over smaller defenders. Brentz displayed a solid stroke during the tournament, but plays within the games flow. Skyler displayed an above average basketball IQ and the ability to put the ball on the deck and create against a taller defender.
Brentz's profile will soon be added to our 2011 player database.
