Our final 2009 class rankings are being revealed starting May 11. Releasing one team a day leading up to our #1 ranking and the signing day finale on May 20.
Coach K has done it again. This class only consists of two players. Both of which were McDonald's All-Americans. Both players are Duke players in every sense of the word. Mason Plumlee will bring size and a true post. Kelly will bring size and versatility. Both players have great touch.
Mason Plumlee- Plumlee is long and athletic. This kid can run the floor with the best prospects in the country. We have seen this kid play a few times. (I don't think that we have seen him lose) Plumlee is one of the best shot blockers in his class as well.Can shoot the mid range jumper, but is better in the paint where is size and agility make him ultra tough to defend. Will be a solid all around player at the division 1 level and potentially beyond. Plumlee is a native of Warsaw, Ind, but transferred to Christ School in 2006 along with brothers Miles and Marshall. Ryan Kelly- This kid is a versatile big with a multifacted game. Can play the post with the best players in the class as well as shoot from 16-18 feet with the best as well. This kid is so smooth and crafty that he reminds us of a young Dirk Nowitzki. Will log major minutes as a freshman at multiple posistions. This kid has the pedigree for basketball, his father played at Yale. Last summers bigest boom prospect. Kelly averaged 23.4 points, 8.7 rebounds and 4.0 blocked shots as a junior. Was the 2009 Gatorade Player of the Year in North Carolina. Kelly averaged 25.2 points, 10.2 rebounds, 4.2 blocks, 3.3 assists and 1.8 steals as a senior. Was a 2009 Jordan Brand All-American. Photo
